You experience the Rhine in a very gripping way, when you travel with the ship line "Köln-Düsseldorfer" to Rüdesheim, the famous town opposite of Bingen. Your ship's trip will start in St. Goar, you will pass by the Loreley, the Palatinate, castles and wonderful little villages full of vineyards. You can gain impressions that are only possible to get from the ship's side. Altogether you will have five hours of travel time and about 3 hours sojourn in Rüdesheim.
In Rüdesheim a chair-lift can take you to the height, where the Niederwald memorial is located. You will there have an impressive view across the Rhine river and even farther to the valley of the river Nahe and across the Rhine province.
Or use the sojourn of about 3 hours to promenade through the world-famous alley "Drosselgasse", where there are many souvenir shops and wine restaurants. This alley has only a length of 144.5 m and yet it is deemed to be the most cheerful alley in the world. Whenever the conversation is about being tipsy, of rocking and singing visitors of the Rhine province, you can be sure that the name of this smallest alley in the world will be mentioned.
